Programs

The Sausalito Community Boating Center (SCBC) is offering a Saturday program for youth ages 10–14. Kids will spend time on the water and at our waterfront site learning to sail, exploring Sausalito’s history and the Bay, and taking part in hands-on activities.
What will kids do?
Learn to sail on a wide, stable San Francisco Pelican sailboat
Learn basic sailing skills, including steering, knots, rigging, and handling a sailboat
Explore the Bay and the marine life around our docks
Learn about Marinship and Sausalito’s maritime history
Participate in art and other hands-on activities
Eat lunch together each Saturday — lunch is provided
Who It's For: Youth ages 10–14, with a particular focus on creating an accessible, welcoming experience for young people who may be new to sailing and boating. No previous sailing experience required.
