Traditional Wooden Boat Sailing 6/28-629

Program is Full
In this two day class, students will learn to row and sail Charlie Merrill, a 17-foot traditional Swampscott Dory. In addition to rowing instruction,
students will gain an understanding of tides and weather on Richardson Bay and general water safety. The class will also cover basic knot tying,
traditional boat terminology, and provide an introduction to seamanship on Richardson Bay. At the end of the class students will have the option to
take a test that will qualify them to rent boats for rowing and sailing on Richardson Bay.

Note:

Note: Charlie Merrill is a narrow boat, which means getting on and off requires a bit of balance and coordination. At times, you might also need
to move quickly from one side of the boat to the other. If you have an injury or any mobility challenges, this boat might not be the best fit
for learning. That said, we’re always happy to work with you to find a solution. Just get in touch to chat about your needs, and we’ll do our
best to help you get out on the water!
